Address: Tara Freynestown, Kilkenny

For the purposes of data protection law, Expand Wellness is the 'data controller' of the personal data described in this policy.

2. What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you visit expandwellness.ie, make a booking, purchase a gift card or programme, sign up to our newsletter, or otherwise get in touch with us.

3. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
  • Contact form: name, email address, and any message content you send us.

  • Bookings: name, email, phone number, and the service or class you're booking.

  • Health-related information: where relevant to a session (for example Somatic Alignment, Breathwork, or Reflexology), we may ask about physical or mental health conditions, pregnancy, medications, or other factors relevant to your safety during a session. This is 'special category data' under GDPR and is only collected with your explicit consent, and only where necessary to deliver the session safely.

  • Newsletter sign-up: name and email address.

  • Gift cards and online programme purchases: name, email, billing details, and payment information (payment card details are processed directly by our payment provider - see Section 5 - and are not stored by us).

Information collected automatically
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected via cookies and similar technologies. See our separate Cookie Policy for full detail.

4. Why We Use Your Information (Legal Basis)
  • To provide a service you've booked or purchased - necessary for performance of a contract with you.

  • To assess suitability/safety for a session (health-related information) - based on your explicit consent, given at the time of booking or intake.

  • To send you the newsletter or marketing communications - based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.

  • To process payments - necessary for performance of a contract, and to comply with legal/accounting obligations.

  • To respond to enquiries - based on our legitimate interest in running our business and answering questions you've raised.

  • To improve the website (analytics) - based on your consent via the cookie banner.

5. Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the business, including:

  • Wix.com - our website, hosting, and booking platform provider.

  • Stripe - to process card payments.

  • Wix Email Marketing - to send newsletters.

  • Analytics and marketing tools (where used) - to understand website usage and measure our marketing. See our separate Cookie Policy for detail.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, as required under GDPR.

6. How Long We Keep Information
  • Booking and health-related information: retained for 7 years in line with insurance/professional practice requirements, then securely deleted.

  • Newsletter subscriber data: kept until you unsubscribe.

  • Payment/transaction records: retained as required by Irish tax law (currently 6 years).

  • Contact form enquiries: retained for 12 months unless a client relationship continues.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate data

  • Request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten")

  • Restrict or object to certain processing

  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

  • Lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie) if you believe your data has been mishandled

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@expandwellness.ie.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information, including relying on Wix's platform-level security. No online system is 100% secure, but we work to keep your information safe and only accessible to those who need it.

  • Our sessions support relaxation, stress relief, and general wellbeing. They are not a substitute for medical, psychiatric, or psychological diagnosis, treatment, or care.

  • You are responsible for disclosing any relevant physical or mental health conditions, pregnancy, medications, or other factors that may affect your safety before a session, so we can adapt or advise accordingly.

  • If you have a condition that may be a contraindication for a particular offering (for example certain breathwork practices), please contact us before booking so we can advise you.

  • If you are in a medical or mental health crisis, please contact your GP, local emergency services, or a crisis support line rather than booking a session.

  • We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.

5. Payments

Prices are shown in euro (EUR) and include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your card details.

To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, Expand Wellness is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this website or attendance at a session. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.

10. Governing Law

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function properly, remember your preferences, and - where you consent - help us understand how visitors use the site.

2. Cookies We Use
Strictly Necessary Cookies

These are essential for the website to work - for example, remembering items in your cart, keeping you logged in to a members' area, or enabling secure checkout for gift cards and programmes. These cannot be switched off, as set by our website platform, Wix.

Functional Cookies

These remember choices you make (such as language preference) to improve your experience.

Analytics Cookies

We may use analytics tools (such as website or booking-platform analytics) to understand how visitors use the site - for example, which pages are popular and how people navigate - so we can improve it. These are only set with your consent.

We may use marketing or social media cookies to show you relevant content on social platforms, and to measure the effectiveness of our posts and campaigns. These are only set with your consent.

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by third parties whose services are embedded in our site, such as our website and booking platform (Wix), our payment provider, and - where used - social media plug-ins and analytics tools. We don't control these cookies directly; each provider's own privacy policy explains how they use cookies. Our website platform is Wix (www.wix.com/about/privacy).
