We help people who are struggling with stress, anxiety, and unresolved experiences understand their nervous system so they can feel calmer, more connected, and more like themselves again.
HEAR IT FROM OUR CLIENTS:
I came to Somatic Alignment because I was living with fibromyalgia and felt like I was constantly trying to manage my body.
The pain was always there in some form. Some days it was loud and obvious, other days it sat quietly in the background, but it never really went away. I was tired all the time and even small things could wipe me out. I felt like I had to think about my body constantly - how much I could do, how much I needed to rest, and what might trigger a flare.

Someone I trusted recommended these sessions. I didn’t really know what Somatic Alignment was and couldn’t have explained it to anyone at the time. I just knew I needed something different to what I’d already tried.

Before starting this work, I didn’t realise how much I was pushing myself through the pain. I was ignoring symptoms, overriding what my body was telling me, and convincing myself to keep going. Rest felt like failure and slowing down felt uncomfortable. I thought I was coping, but I was exhausted.
The sessions themselves were hard to put into words. There wasn’t much talking or analysing. I wasn’t trying to fix anything. I was being guided to slow down and pay attention in a very gentle way. Things shifted without me forcing them or needing to understand exactly how.
Learning more about how the body and brain work together was a big part of the process for me. For the first time, my symptoms actually made sense. I stopped seeing my pain as something random or broken, and started to understand it as my body trying to communicate. That understanding alone changed how I related to myself.

Over a series of sessions, I noticed real changes. The pain didn’t disappear, but it softened. Flare-ups became less intense and didn’t last as long. I felt less frightened by my symptoms and more able to respond to them.
Now, Somatic Alignment is part of how I care for myself.
My day-to-day life looks very different. I’m much kinder to myself. I rest when I need to. I adjust plans without guilt. I listen to my body instead of pushing through it. When symptoms show up, I know how to meet them rather than fight them.

I still come to sessions to maintain how well I feel and to stay connected to my body in this way. It’s hard to explain exactly what happens in a Somatic Alignment session, but the difference in how I feel in my body - and how I live my life - speaks for itself.

HEAR IT FROM OUR CLIENTS:
After a very long journey within the health system, I was finally diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). The diagnosis gave me an answer, but it came with no guidance or follow-up support, leaving me feeling lost and alone
I needed a strong support network, and I was lucky enough to meet Grainne at a mind-blowing group breathwork session.

Meeting Grainne at that session was truly life-changing. I had never imagined taking time out for myself like that, but it turned out to be the beginning of my recovery journey. In her one-on-one sessions, Grainne combined breathwork with reflexology, and she has an amazing way of explaining exactly what is happening in my body and nervous system. It felt like everything finally started to make sense, and I could feel positive changes unfolding with each session.

Completing Grainne’s online course Align, at my own pace was another turning point. The course completely transformed my mindset and gave me practical tools to manage my FND every day. Since then, I feel so much more positive and hopeful. For the first time in a long while, I feel truly empowered to manage my health. I am so grateful for Grainne’s compassionate guidance and expertise. Thanks to her, I finally feel hopeful and supported on my journey.
My symptoms have improved and I feel stronger and more optimistic about the future. I would absolutely recommend Grainne to anyone struggling with FND or seeking supportive, holistic healing. The difference she has made in my life is truly remarkable.

HEAR IT FROM OUR CLIENTS:
After years of struggling with intense monthly symptoms, I was finally diagnosed with PMDD. The diagnosis gave me an explanation, but I was still left feeling overwhelmed, foggy and unsure how to regain control of my life.
When I first found Expand Wellness, I was in a really difficult place. I’d been diagnosed with PMDD, and every month felt like I was losing myself. In the weeks leading up to my period, the anger, anxiety, and overwhelm were so intense that I barely recognised my own behaviour. The brain fog was debilitating, there were about eight days every month when I simply couldn’t take on high‑responsibility tasks. I had to adjust my work diary because my mind just wasn’t capable of functioning the way I needed it to. I was just trying to get through each day. It wasn’t until the fog finally cleared that I realised how challenging my life had actually become.

Before coming to Gráinne and Simon, I had tried everything I could think of to manage it on my own. Exercise, medication, herbal support, all the usual things people recommend. But nothing gave me any real control. I felt like I was constantly firefighting symptoms rather than living my life. Working with Gráinne and Simon was the first time I felt genuinely heard. They have this instantly calming, kind presence that makes it easy to let your guard down. I went through six sessions of somatic alignment, and now I top it up with their breathwork group classes. The work itself is gentle but powerful in a way that you cant necessarily explain. They give me emotional space in a way that feels safe, grounded, and completely without pressure. Through the somatic alignment work, something started to shift. I found myself able to cope with adversity in a way I hadn’t been able to for a long time. My mind became clearer. I started to feel like myself again, and not a “new” version of me, just the version of myself that I believe I am, without the constant fog and emotional volatility. I’m more motivated now, more consistent, and I can manage challenges at work and at home without feeling like I’m on the edge of overwhelm. I’m still human, still managing symptoms, but the difference in how I move through my life is massive.

If someone was wondering whether to reach out to Expand Wellness, I’d simply say that you should experience it for yourself with an open mind. There’s no pressure to be a certain way. Just show up as you are. For me, it made a huge difference and I'm so happy that I discovered this wonderful little place.
